While hair masks and conditioner bottles are being thrown around we are forgetting about the very first step in our hair care journey – shampoos! As soon as we step in the shower and drench our hair this is the first product that will make or break our hair towards the end!

Cleaning is just as important as conditioning and re-moisturizing! Once water hits our heads the hair strands are automatically more vulnerable to damage and tangling. So it is always good to keep an eye on which shampoos you purchase for your hair. While that hot pink bottle that says clarifying may sound and look cool in the beginning heavy sulfates and chemicals can dry out your scalp and hair.

To avoid this we have chosen some of our favorites!

If you hair is colored

Some great options if you have added highlights or went from a drastic brown to blond are.

Redken Blonde Idol shampoo
Phyto Color Protect Radiance shampoo

Clairol Shimmer Lights (especially if you’re wanting to keep that platinum blond!)

If your hair is curly

If your hair is naturally curly then you definitely understand the struggle of picking and fighting with hair products. Curls need extra moisture and extra loving compared to straighter strands so to do so shampooing or using cleansing conditioners are important!

Devacurl NoPoo
Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus shampoo

Renpure cleansing conditioner

If your hair is just destroyed

Bleached the ends a bit too much? Or used the flat iron five times a day rather than once a week? Don’t worry we have been there and done it (again and again). Healing and trying to regain control of your mane may seem like a challenge at first but, with proper care from shampoo to conditioner this problem can soon disappear!

Aveda Dry Remedy shampoo
Kerastase Reflection Chroma Sensitive shampoo

Joico K-pak shampoo
