Okay I have to admit as a kid when grandma was making cookies i was excited about the cookie dough more so then the finished product! Nothing was worse when the salmonella scare was becoming real and eating raw cookie dough was deemed as actually dangerous. However, since then many companies have come out with cookie dough options that are meant to be eaten raw! Although that eases the pain of being able to eat cookie dough again but that doesn’t help me and my metabolism.  It is always the hard truth to admit that yes, I no longer have the metabolism of a 7 year old but, what if there is an actual healthy version of this treat I love so much. With healthy ingredients like powdered peanut butter and almond milk this version will not add 10 lbs to the scale in one day.

1 scoop protein powder (my favorite is Sun Warrior Classic Vanilla)

2 tablespoons powdered peanut butter (or 1 tablespoon nut butter)

splash vanilla extract

2 to 4 tablespoons almond milk

sweetener, to taste (such as stevia, depends if your protein powder is sweetened)

add-ins of your choice (my go-to is 1 tablespoon unsweetened shredded coconut and 1/2 square chopped dark chocolate)

In a small bowl, combine the protein powder and powdered peanut butter. Add in the vanilla extract and then the almond milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until you’ve reached a cookie dough consistency (this will vary depending on the protein powder you use). Sweeten to taste if desired. Now add in your favorite cookie dough fillings! Roll into balls if you want, or simply grab a spoon and go to town.
